Strengthening Evaluation in the Australian Government – Action Plan 2026–2030

The Strengthening Evaluation in the Australian Government – Action Plan 2026–2030 will promote use of evaluation to:

• guide decisions
• make improvements
• grow accountability
• deliver programs that work.

The Plan includes 14 actions. These fit into 4 groups:

• leadership and culture
• capability
• planning and delivery
• using evidence.

The Australian Government will be responsible for delivering the actions. The Commonwealth Evaluation Reference Group (ERG) will monitor progress.

Progress will be measured using the annual State of Evaluation in the Australian Government survey.
